As a newcomer, I think it's very unscientific to take a 3-5 day long route for the first time outdoors, so I suggest that you start with the easiest single day short hike, and my course will revolve around that.
What is a Single Day Hike?
When I say short single-day outdoor activities, I generally mean low-intensity, non-hazardous, low-altitude, non-camping hiking activities, relatively casual, short-term wilderness trips with adequate security, short-term regular hikes with clear lines, unlikely to have accidents, short itineraries and low intensity. There are no special requirements for participants, physical health and simple equipment requirements.
After reading this, you may ask, what is hiking and how to hike? Let me answer the following.
Hiking is not a walk in the usual sense, nor is it a race in a sports competition, but rather a medium to long distance walking exercise in a purposeful suburb, rural area or in the mountains, hiking is the most typical and characteristic kind of outdoor sports.
When you first start hiking, there is a gradual process, so if you are new to the outdoor hiking scene, don't be in a hurry to get started. Here are a few principles for outdoor enthusiasts who are just starting out on a hike
Always Go at Your Own Pace: Don't try to be brave and bury your head in the sand, as this will consume a lot of energy and result in a desire for speed. If you are hiking with a lot of people, it is best to find a companion who is about the same speed as you.
Measure Your Physical Ability Scientifically: the first few times you go out on a hike, it is best to stick to a number of hours and not plan how far you want to go, and then increase the intensity of the hike after you have a good understanding of your own abilities.
Don't Just Walk with Your Head Down and Miss the Scenery Around You: outdoor hiking is only one of the purposes to strengthen your body, don't go on a rampage for some so-called "self-mutilation" purposes, the intensity of physical effort can sometimes be more than worth the loss. Remember that when hiking outdoors, the most appropriate speed is to be able to maintain their own walking speed for a whole day.
Learn How to Rest: Everyone has their own way of walking. When hiking, you should walk in a way that is more comfortable for you, so that your physical strength can be used scientifically and effectively.
When Hiking, You Should Eat and Drink More: the definition of eating and drinking more is not overeating, if you eat too much, it is estimated that the road may not be able to walk. When hiking, the body loses a lot of calories, so in order to replenish the strength, you need to replenish water and food in time. You can drink more water appropriately before climbing a big slope. If the weather is hot and you sweat a lot, you can add some salt to your drinking water appropriately.
During the Hiking Process, You Should Pay Attention to Scientific Rest: generally, you need to rest 10 minutes for every 50 minutes of walking, and different people can measure the increase or decrease according to their own situation.
Having said that, have you made up your mind to go hiking? Let's start with a short hike!
